Work to transform Kingsmead Pools & Fitness is progressing well ahead of its opening this autumn.
Kingsmead Pools & Fitness has remained open to swimming pool users for the duration of the transformation project so far. In order to put the finishing touches to the transformation, it is now necessary to close the swimming pools and public car park from Monday 5th August until the centre opens in early autumn.
To make sure that everyone is aware, signage will be displayed in the car park ahead of the closure.
The closure will allow for essential improvements to be made, including new investment into the swimming pools and making sure they are accessible to everyone.
As a valued Active Life member, other Active Life centres in Herne Bay and Whitstable remain open for your use. If you are unable to book via the app at these centres, please feel free to call us or pop into the centre. You may not be able to book via the app at these centres, if this is the case please call ahead for your session or just turn up.

Kingsmead Pools & Fitness is undergoing a circa £8m transformation project and will feature a new entrance, foyer and café area as well as a large new gym with a dedicated ‘Intencity Studio’ by 2024.
There will be three new fitness studios and a health suite with a relaxing sauna, steam room and ice room, as well as significant improvements to the swimming pool and sports hall, will complete this stunning new development.
